We kick off this month's playlist with the new single "Self-regulating system" from NY based noise-artist Pharmakon who joined us at Leisure Center last spring along with Yang Li's Human Mas/Chine installation for a high energy live performance. Following this is a hypnotic, sonic strip-tease led by the french actress Vimala Pons. In keeping with the industrial sonic palette, we have an extract off the new album from the German duet, Stereo Total. This is followed by "Lovers are losers" by Molly Nilsson to bring a warmer note to this playlist, which contrasts with the songs pessimistic title; this is a contrast mirrored in the anticipation of seasonal change at the end of the summer. Moving on, we reach a brighter pop style with the next two tracks, from french indie-pop bands MUNYA and Toboggan respectively. Continuing on with the lighter sound, we have "Dolce Vita" a definitive summer feel-good track with an Italo-disco twist. Yet, unfortunately, like all good things, summer must come to an end. We face this bitter sweet truth with the Canadian duo Brusque Twin and their cold, savage track “Angel”. To serve as the final nail in the coffin, is Oklou's “Friendless”, an ethereal song perfect for those sleepless late summer nights of nostalgia ...
