Conceived by Martin Margiela in Paris, Maison Margiela embodies avant-garde luxury fashion. The brand quickly built a cult following after Martin’s meteoric rise since his graduation from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium where he honed his craft alongside Dries Van Noten and many others. Margiela created the now common deconstructed approach to fashion design and experimented relentlessly with innovative, artful ways of making clothing. Martin has since departed the brand and disappeared - holding to the anonymity he preached to his loyal following. The brand is now led by the esteemed John Galliano who has upheld the brand’s core and maintains the innovative, experimental vision of the house.
