Lauren Klassen

Canadian born, Montreal based, jewelry designer Lauren Klassen sees our world through a different lens. Her work is characterized by her continued incorporation of seemingly mundane objects into the vocabulary of high-end jewelry. Each piece is handmade in her Montreal atelier and bears a signature coat of rhodium plating to ensure each piece maintains its luxe mirror quality finish. Since launching in 2013, Klassen has incorporated objects such as paper clips, pencil sharpeners, bread clips, padlocks, and keys, into her growing catalogue of utility tinged finery. The continued use of everyday iconography creates an industrial design language that challenges the preconceived ideas of what is considered luxury jewelry. Klassen has also quietly been producing a line of small leather goods, crafted in the finest of Canadian bull calf leather, featuring her illustrious utilitarian details in silver and gold.
