Luxury streetwear of Japan, dubbed as Japanese street culture’s Chanel, officially departed from its home ground as of 2017 Fall/Winter season. mastermind WORLD, formerly known as mastermind JAPAN by Masaaki Honma, continued to showcase variety of designer collaborations with Adidas, New Era and Comme des Garçons after its main collections came to a halt. The brand’s 20th year anniversary marked mastermind WORLD’s re-debut of its mainline and the brand’s followers welcomed it back with long lineups in front of its boutiques. Honma continues the brand’s punk rock inspired motifs while rediscovering minimal yet casual silhouettes and high-end details.
